The form and cane work reflect the modernist Murano tradition, with stylistic influence reminiscent of Bianconi’s designs for Venini. The elongated silhouette and controlled color application highlight Mix’s technical command of the medium and sensitivity to proportion.
About the Artist: Robin Mix was introduced to glassblowing at the University of Massachusetts in the early 1970s and went on to build a career spanning more than three decades. His work took him through glass factories in Northern Europe and into prominent American galleries and exhibitions. Unlike many designers, Mix personally designs and executes each piece by hand, maintaining full authorship from concept to completion.
