Our Story

Three Decades on the Downtown Mall

For more than 30 years, Consignment House Gallery has been a landmark destination in Central Virginia for collectors of antiques, fine jewelry, and rare objects. Since its inception, the gallery has served as a cornerstone of the historic Downtown Mall, built on a reputation for quality and the thrill of discovery.

In October 2019, the gallery entered a new chapter. Under the ownership of Geoff Robinson and Melissa Meece, the space was reimagined as Consignment House Gallery—honoring its storied past while pivoting toward a curated, contemporary future.

A Modern Evolution

The Shift Toward Modernism & Design

While we remain rooted in the tradition of fine consignment, our focus has evolved to meet the aesthetic of the modern collector. Consignment House Gallery now specializes in Modern Art, Mid-Century Modern decor, and original contemporary works.

Our floor is a rotating exhibition of form and function. From local Virginia glass artists and painters to select designers and established names, we bridge the gap between historic craftsmanship and 20th-century design.

The Philosophy

“I’m deeply interested in neuroaesthetics—the idea that our surroundings shape how we feel. Just as your chemistry shifts when you step into nature or a museum, I believe the objects we choose for our homes can change our day-to-day state. I’ve curated this gallery to inspire awe—and to offer pieces that bring daily upliftment.”
