Orlando Quevedo “Untitled Interior”
Oil on canvas
Signed by artist
36 x 60

A carefully constructed interior scene blending classical architecture with modern abstraction and curated artistic references. Ornate wrought iron railings, expansive tiled floors, and framed paintings create a layered visual environment centered around a grand piano and open gallery-like space. The composition balances precision and surreal stillness, inviting the eye to move through the architecture and discover small moments of color, texture, and visual rhythm throughout the scene.

About the Artist:
Orlando Rafael Quevedo was born in Holguín, Cuba in 1970 and began his formal arts education at a young age, later earning his Master’s Degree from the Superior Art Institute of Havana in 1993. After immigrating to the United States, he settled in Philadelphia, where he worked as both a professor at La Salle University and a curator for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Known for his distinctive approach to Magical Realism, Quevedo creates richly detailed paintings that blend classical technique with surreal and fantastical imagery, drawing inspiration from masters such as Rubens, Velázquez, and Rembrandt. His work has been exhibited widely throughout the United States and Europe.
