Artist bio:

Mula Ben-Haim, also known as Shmuel “Mula” Ben-Haim, was a Polish-born Israeli painter and muralist active in the development of modern Israeli art. Born in Lida in 1916, he studied art in Vilna, Tel Aviv, and Paris before establishing himself in Israel. His paintings, gouaches, murals, and mosaics often depict landscapes, animals, and figures, and his work was shown in Safed’s Artists’ Quarter, where a permanent exhibition opened in 1972. He also served as cultural attaché at the Israeli Embassy in Moscow from 1962 to 1965. Ben-Haim died in 1993.
