A friend of Dave Matthews, Edward Thomas frequently visited Matthews’ properties, including Blenheim Farm, where he painted this scene. The farm later became the site of Blenheim Vineyards, also founded by Matthews. Signed and dated “July 4, 2006.”
About the Artist: Edward Thomas (1972-2021) was an artist, architect and historian living and working in Charlottesville, Virginia. Edward studied both architecture and painting at the University of Virginia. He created a beautiful body of work that captured and illuminated the mundane and spectacular scenes of Central Virginia.
