Artist Bio:
Craig Knight was born in 1964 in Evansville, Indiana, to an American GI and an English mother. After moving to England in the 1970s, he went on to earn a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Hull College of Higher Education, an MA in Fine Art from Sheffield Hallam University, and a PGCE in Fine Art from St. Martin’s, Lancaster. Knight has taught Art and Design for more than 25 years and currently teaches A-Level Fine Art at Stockton Sixth Form College.
A painter and draughtsman with eclectic influences—including Mod culture, comics and graphic novels, Pop and Neo-Pop, graffiti, and traditional fine art—Knight works primarily in oil, but also in acrylic and watercolor. His recent Neo-Pop–inflected work explores fragmented, post-modern abstraction, reflecting on memory, reality, and the layered nature of personal identity.
