About the Artist:
Born in Spain in (1930-2026) into a family with a long artistic tradition among the women, Aina Nergaard moved with her American husband to Washington, D.C. in 1957, where they lived until relocating to Lewes, Delaware in 1997. A highly recognized and prolific artist before her recent retirement, she sought vibrant, balanced compositions grounded in equilibrium of form and color while relying on intuition to convey the feeling of each scene. In her disciplined effort to “avoid chaos,” she continually refined her compositions to achieve the simple but strong impact she pursued.
