20 × 20 in.
An abstract landscape composition by Aina Nergaard-Nammack featuring simplified geometric forms arranged across a restrained horizon line. Broad planes of cream, ochre, brown, muted green, and sky blue create a quiet sense of structure and spatial balance, while layered brushwork and softened edges lend the painting warmth and movement. The composition reflects Aina's intuitive approach to color and form, balancing architectural solidity with an open, atmospheric quality.
About the Artist:
Aina Nergaard-Nammack (1930–2026) was a Spanish-born abstract painter known for her vibrant, intuitive compositions and lifelong dedication to color, balance, and movement. Born into a family with a long artistic tradition among the women, she moved to the United States with her husband in the late 1950s and later lived and worked in Alexandria, Virginia before settling in Lewes, Delaware. A highly prolific artist throughout her long career, Aina created bold abstract works in which form and color remain carefully in equilibrium. Relying heavily on intuition, she sought to capture the emotional feeling of a scene rather than strict realism, repeatedly refining her compositions in an effort to “avoid chaos” and achieve the simple yet strong visual impact that defines her work.
