About the Artist: Born in Spain (B. 1930) of a family with a long artistic tradition among the women, Aina and her American husband moved to Alexandria, VA in 1972, living there until 1997 when they moved to Lewes, DE. A highly recognized, prolific artist before her recent retirement, Aina strived above all else for vibrant, balanced compositions, with both form and color in equilibrium, while at the same time relying heavily on her intuition to capture the feeling of the scene she was trying to depict. In her disciplined effort to "avoid chaos," she would repeatedly study the composition to make sure that she was achieving the simple but strong impact that she sought.
