Emmeric Konrad, "Hen Pecker"
Year: 1991
Medium: Mixed media on board
Size: 30" x 23" × 2.5" (including frame)
A rare early work by Los Angeles artist Emmeric Konrad, Hen Pecker (1991) exemplifies the artist’s raw, expressive energy and darkly humorous surrealism. This mixed media painting bursts with vivid yellows, greens, and reds, creating a chaotic dreamscape inhabited by three distorted, cartoon-like figures. The central nude, poised in a single high heel, is flanked by a winged creature reminiscent of a warped Mickey Mouse — a striking embodiment of Konrad’s signature blend of street art, pop culture, and psychological intensity.
