Artist Bio:
Born in Spain (b. 1919) into a family with a long artistic tradition among the women, Aina Nergaard and her American husband moved to Washington, DC in 1957, where they lived until 1997 before relocating to Lewes, Delaware. A highly recognized and prolific artist prior to her recent retirement, Nergaard focused on achieving vibrant, balanced compositions, relying heavily on intuition while maintaining disciplined formal structure. Her work emphasizes equilibrium between color and form in pursuit of simple but strong visual impact.
