Artist Bio:
Dedrick Brandes Stuber (California, 1878–1954) was known for his marine, mountain, and pastoral scenes, painted primarily in the cool, shaded light of early morning — a choice that shaped the distinctive illumination seen throughout his work. Born in New York City, he studied at the Art Students League before relocating to Los Angeles in 1920, where he exhibited widely for two decades. Stuber was a member of the Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles and the Laguna Beach Art Association, and his paintings are held in collections including The Pasadena Art Museum.
