Artist Bio:
Scott Kerr is a self-taught contemporary abstract artist whose creative instincts emerged in childhood, inspired by early exposure to art through his father. Traditional classroom settings never aligned with his independent style, and it wasn’t until adulthood—after years spent building and painting furniture—that Kerr returned to art with renewed purpose. Around age 40, he discovered that applying Venetian plaster, marble powder, and acrylic paint to wooden panels was an ideal method for creating his large-scale, mixed-media works.
Kerr’s pieces are often described as “transitional,” seamlessly fitting into both modern and antique environments. After selling out his first show, he continued exhibiting across the United States, gaining national recognition. Through texture, materiality, and imagination-driven compositions, Kerr invites viewers to form their own emotional connections with his work.
